WP3.2: CH4 and N2O cycle

Chair: Thomas Blunier
Co-Chair: Fortunat Joos

WP3.2 objectives

  • To characterize at high resolution the slow and fast variations in the atmospheric content and isotopic signature of CH4 and N2O during warm periods, i.e. the present and the last interglacial.
  • To better constrain biogeochemical mechanisms responsible for the production of the greenhouse gases CH4 and N2O through data-model integration.
  • To obtain a better understanding of the biogeochemical mechanisms controlling feedbacks between climate and methane and nitrous oxide sources.
